Life's Little Surprises

I'm gonna be a mom, again! Life is full of surprises, and this is a major one for me. I'll record my feelings, pregnancy progress, and general life happenings here.

Stuff from here and there

Lots of stuff going on around here.

The boys have both started baseball, which is fun. Jasmine loves going and watching them practice. Games start the weekend of April 24th. Isaiah is doing well, but he doesn't care to be an outfielder, which is what he is for this season. Noah just loves playing no matter what position it is.

February 23 was a sad day. Sweetie's best friend and his wife had their baby that day. She was 5 weeks early. It would have been a great day, except her water broke, the baby was breach, the cord came out first. By the time they got the baby out, she had already died and they couldn't bring her back. She was 5lbs and 1 oz. Her name was Alexandra Lanee and she was beautiful. We went to the hospital to see them that night, and they still had Alex with them. I held her and loved her as much as I could. And I have to say, it might sound creepy to some, but holding her even though she'd passed was not weird at all. It was rather like she was sleeping. Alex was their first baby.

March 20th was the anniversary of my Danyelle's death. Talk about a crappy day. I had to work, but it was just a really blah day. Some people at work noticed what day it was, but not many. She worked with those same people for 10 years, and only a handful remembered. It made my heart so much sadder to know she didn't rate high enough in their memory to warrant a moment of silence or a quick story or even just a smile. I miss her so much, and each day I wonder how I'll get through the rest of my life without her.

On a brighter note, two weeks ago we purchased new 4 wheelers for the family. Noah has a Yamaha Raptor 50, Isaiah has a Suzuki 90, I have a Suzuki 250, and Sweetie has a Suzuki 400. Jasmine even has a powerwheels one, and it's a Kawasaki. lol We bought the Raptor off a guy my cousin knows, but the Suzuki's are all new. It is so freakin' fun to ride them! Of course we all have helmets and do not ride without them. We like to go down to my parents house and ride around on their property. The kids totally dig the quads, especially when they can haul ass along the property without worrying about cars or people. It's great!

I am going through college just fine. It's hard to keep up sometimes, but it's worth it. I'm totally stoked that my mom is thinking about going to college!! Yay! I don't know if she'll really do it, but I hope she does. It's so hard to get a good job without a college degree anymore, and she's way smart enough to do it. My sister is fixin' to graduate with her Masters degree this summer! Holy crap! I'm so proud of her for sticking with it and getting her Masters. I think I'm gonna get mine too, but she's only 26, and I'll be like 33 or 34 before I get mine. Geesh. See what happens when you quit college? Your baby sister gets done before you do! :)

Anyway, I guess that's all I got for now. Things are pretty boring around here for the most part. I'm tired alot and really just don't have the time to update here like I want to. Hopefully I'll have more time when baseball is over. Until then......

Random Update

Hi there! It's been a few months. Sorry about that. School is going pretty well, but it's wearing me out, hence the procrastination in blogging. I'm currently taking Employment Law for Business. It's an interesting class, but there's alot to keep up with.

The kids are doing well. Jasmine fell last week and got her first black eye. She fell head first into the chaise lounge, and smacked her cheek on the wooden frame, resulting in a sore/bruise on the cheek, and one big shiner, plus a tiny bit of discoloring around the other eye. That's my tomboy! Isaiah is doing pretty good too. We've instituted a new "program" for him so that he will learn to control his restlessness at school. If he stays on level 5 at school (which means he's behaving perfectly), then he gets to play his Gamecube when he gets home. So far, we've only had about 3 or 4 days in the last month or so that he's not gotten to play. That's progress if you ask me! Noah is good too. He's loving preschool and doing very well. He's such a little smartie, but quiet enough that you'd never know it unless you ask. :)

We've signed both of the boys up for baseball. Isaiah tried out for a team and made it, so he's now kind of a big boy. He's playing kid-pitch in the 9 and under competitive league. He's got some talent, so I'm hoping this league will really boost his confidence. Noah is playing in the 6 and under coach-pitch league. I'm a little skeptical about him playing coach pitch instead of tball, but I think with good instruction he'll do great.

Last night we took all the kids to see Monster Jam. It's the truck show where the trucks have huge tires and loud motors, and they do donuts in the dirt and jump over cars, etc. It was so fun!! The boys had a blast, and while Jaz liked it, I think she would have prefered Disney on Ice. haha Mom, Dad, and BamBam went with us, so atleast we had more than me and Sweetie to corral three kids.

Oh yeah, we got a new puppy. Or should I say, Jaz got a new puppy. It's a pug/schnauzer mix, and Jasmine named her Tinkerbell. Cutest little dog ever, but if she has a schnauzer personality, I may have to put her out of my misery. I can't stand schnauzers. However, she seems to have a pretty good mix of personality, so for now, she lives. I'll post pics at a later time.

I think that's about it for now. I know, real exciting post, huh? Hey, it's better than nothing! :)

Holy batwings, Batman! A new blog post!

I really wish I was better at this, but I'm not. Obviously, right? Sorry I haven't posted anything in like, a year and a half, but life's been busy. And I'm lazy, I guess. Anywho, here's a bit of an update.

My daughter is so wonderful! She is going to be 2 on December 16th, and she's gonna put me in an early grave! Her favorite word is a tie between "fine!" and "shit!" I know, it's so not funny. I totally wish she had never learned that hateful word, but how you gonna keep a kid from saying fine? I'm kidding. Really. We've pretty much got the "shit" word out of her vocabulary, but she said it tonight because Daddy said it, and if Daddy says it, she has to repeat it. She has tons of other words and sentences in her little bag of baby tricks, but I think my favorite is when she grabs my leg and wrinkles her little button nose and says "I yub yew Mommy". My heart becomes mush and I just have to kiss those cute little cheeks. She now has enough hair for pigtails, long enough legs for cute flair-leg jeans, and enough teeth to really hurt if she decides to bite you. She's getting so big, so fast, and my heart is so full of happiness, and so sad at the same time. After all, she's the last baby, and I already miss the her baby-ness.

Noah is doing really well. He's in preschool 5 days a week at the public school Isaiah goes to. It's a program offered by the school district, and it's free! He LOVES school. He told me it was his favorite thing to do, which is great since Isaiah seems to hate school. Noah sports a mohawk right now, and has since the beginning of summer, which he thinks is rockin' cool. The one thing that bothers me: lovenotes. Yep, you read it right. He's 5! When I got home from work tonight, he said "Mom, I gotta show you my lovenotes. They're from Madison. She likes me." OMG. I just want to puke. So, he brings me this monolith of paper, that has cute little preschool pictures on them, and they are all glued shut. He says we have to "hot water" them so we can get them open. As I'm tearing one open, because I have no idea what "hot water" them means, he says "Uh, don't tear them! They're my lovenotes!" Holy crap, they start early!

Isaiah is doing well also. He's in 3rd grade, and aside from a shitty little kid in his class that seems to have it out for him, he's excelling. He's smart, reading at a 4th grade level, and is well liked by everyone except aforementioned shitty kid. And he's growing up. I've been fighting the preteen stage for a while now, but it's getting closer with every blink of my eyes. He's talking about girls a little bit, and wants to be rockin' cool like "everyone else". And he's asked the dreaded "Is Santa real?" question. I'm choosing to be oblivious because I just don't want him to grow up yet. Of course, if he's asks again, I will tell him the truth, but for today, I'm pretending that he didn't ask. I don't want him to lose the magic and innocence of childhood just because some kids at school can't keep their mouths shut. I know I can't keep him a baby forever, but I just want one more year. Until next year, and then I'll probably want that year too, but I'm willing to try and let him grow up. :)

Sweetie is doing ok too. He's had surgery on both of his knees for some pretty gnarly meniscus tears, but he's healing well. His most recent disaster was getting a piece of metal in his eye when he was grinding something. That was an interesting day spent at the hospital. He's almost healed from that too. It's almost like having a fourth child sometimes. Ok, most of the time. But I love him with all my heart anyway. I just have to keep extra bandaids around.

I'm doing well. I'm pretty exhausted since I'm now working full time, attending college full time, and have the 4...er, 3....kids. I just passed my first college class with a 97.6%, so I'm pretty stoked about that. My next class starts next Tuesday and I'm really not as prepared as I'd like to be. I'll have to do some major text reading this weekend and get a paper written that's due the first night of class.

I have some other news, but I think I will save it for tomorrow. It's about my best friend, and it's just too long a story to tact onto this post.

Last thing for now is this: the animal collection. We still have Butter, our St. Bernard. But we've acquired some new furbabies. First, we got a full grown great dane named Duke. He is the sweetest dog ever, and has the neatest personality. He is older, so is really in his senior years, but any time with him is well spent. And second, is my birthday (which was yesterday) and Christmas present. A great dane puppy named Diesel. He's all black with a white patch on his chest and one foot that has all white toes. He's so freakin' cute, and just as sweet as he can be. And of course we still have Blue, the cat. We are a full house!
